Working together to meet the industry's challenges
EVOLIS was founded in 2021 through the merger of three long-standing organizations: Cisma (1941), Profluid (1899), and Symop (1907).
EVOLIS represents manufacturers of machinery and capital goods that actively contribute to the competitiveness and efficiency of French industry through the modernization, digitalization, and decarbonization of production across key industrial sectors.

Our objectives
EVOLIS’s aim is to help ensure that suppliers of capital goods and industrial solutions are seen as key players in the social, environmental and societal transition.
We firmly believe that productive investment is the driving force behind reindustrialisation and employment in industry, and an effective response to environmental challenges.
EVOLIS is committed to inspiring businesses and future generations to work together to better tackle these challenges.
Our product sectors
EVOLIS members are key players in a dynamic industry: one that is innovative, sustainable and carbon-neutral, and which trains and recruits staff.
Against a backdrop of major transformation, industry lies at the heart of numerous challenges, ranging from the digital revolution and the environmental transition to national sovereignty. As manufacturers of industrial equipment, machinery and solutions, EVOLIS members are key players in the industrial value chain and provide essential solutions to address the transformation challenges facing the main industrial sectors.

A shared vision unites EVOLIS’s member companies, who believe in the power of collective action to tackle the immense challenges facing the industry – and, more broadly, our society.
With 600 member companies, in a sector employing 82,000 people and generating nearly €18 billion in turnover, 65% of which comes from exports, EVOLIS represents a strong and unified organisation, acting as a representative body before French and European authorities.
EVOLIS is a member of the Federation of Mechanical Engineering Industries (FIM) and, through it, of MEDEF, UIMM and France Industrie.
EVOLIS is a founding member of the Alliance Industrie du Futur (AIF) and the CSF ‘SOLUTIONS INDUSTRIE DU FUTUR’, which organises and coordinates projects aimed at transforming, modernising and digitising French industry for the benefit of all other user sectors.
EVOLIS is a member of the European sectoral committees relating to its members' activities: CECE (construction), CECIMO and CELIMO (machine tools), CEIR (valves and fittings), ECTA (cutting tools), EMVA (machine vision), EUMABOIS, EUROPUMP, EWA (welding), FEM (material handling), PNEUROP.
Internationally, EVOLIS works in partnership with the IFR, as well as associations in the US (AEM, ITA, HI, VMA), Japan (CEMA, JIVA) and South Korea (KOCEMA), amongst others.
EVOLIS is a key partner for public decision-makers: ministerial departments, government agencies, Parliament, regional authorities, and French Members of the European Parliament.
Organisation and governance
The Executive Committee
The Executive Committee
The Executive Committee consists of at least 14 members. It is responsible for the day-to-day management of the professional organisation and for implementing the decisions of the Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors
The Board of Directors
The Board of Directors consists of at least 23 members. It is vested with the broadest powers to administer and manage the affairs of the professional organisation.
The General Meeting
The General Meeting
The General Meeting comprises all active members of the professional organisation. It elects the members of the Board of Directors.
Trade associations
Each member company of the organisation is assigned to the business group corresponding to its core business. The members of each business group elect their Vice-President for a three-year term; the Vice-President is responsible for organising the business group and represents it in dealings with other bodies.

Robotics encompasses all the techniques involved in the design and construction of automated machines or production lines through the integration of robots. It is used across all industries – mechanical engineering, plastics, cosmetics, medical, pharmaceutical, nuclear and more – to facilitate complex operations. Robotics is used to handle parts and carry out operations such as assembly, welding, cutting, inspection and lifting... The consortium brings together all the key players in the robotics ecosystem: French and international robot manufacturers, robot integrators, manufacturers of machinery that incorporates robots, manufacturers of peripheral robotics equipment, technical centres, research centres and educational institutions.
Machinery and equipment for the construction and civil engineering sector cover all activities related to the construction, renovation, maintenance and operation of buildings, as well as public infrastructure such as roads, bridges, tunnels, sewers and other public works.
The combination of data capture technologies (measurement, vision, control) and solutions for interpreting this data (software, AI) enables the automation of numerous production and management processes within organisations, helping them to achieve more effective organisational objectives. The interconnection of machines and staff facilitates communication between departments and the optimisation of workflows. Automating tasks reduces errors and frees up working time. Decision-making, particularly regarding preventive maintenance, is simplified through access to and analysis of real-time data, which improves responsiveness to changes and constraints.
Fluid handling equipment comprises systems that play a fundamental role in the efficient management and control of fluids, whether water, hydrocarbons or other liquids and gases. It is of crucial importance in a wide range of sectors, including industry, sewerage networks, agriculture and public infrastructure. Fluid handling equipment represents a significant and vital investment in ensuring the sustainability, energy efficiency and safety of private and public infrastructure.
Lifting equipment is defined as all lifting equipment and accessories used for handling all types of loads and goods of any kind.
Metalworking machinery, control and monitoring equipment, and related accessories enable the shaping and processing of parts using various technologies, such as machining, bending and additive manufacturing. All these technologies are complementary and are aimed at the same customer sectors within the mechanical engineering industry.
Materials handling and intralogistics equipment is used to transport, store, monitor and handle materials, goods and products during manufacturing, storage and distribution processes.
Process machinery refers to all the machines used in the production process within specific industries.
Market groups
These consortia bring together member companies operating within the same customer sector. The aim of these consortia is to promote dialogue and networking within an extended value chain, to identify synergies between the solutions offered by member companies, and to gain a better understanding of the needs of client sectors.
Centres of expertise
The operational team is organised into centres of expertise. Each centre is headed by a Vice-President of the professional organisation.

Technical groups
The 27 or so technical groups serve as a forum where the industry’s positions on regulatory matters are shaped, and through which industry representatives are kept fully informed of legislative developments (with discussions also taking place on industry practices). Their number varies according to current events, and each group may take different forms (working group, task force, advisory group, etc.) depending on the objective. Comprising industry representatives concerned with issues relating to regulatory changes, they act as the operational arm of the technical and environmental division, defending their interests at the level of our public authorities (central government) and at European level (through our committees: CECE, EUROPUMP, FEM, CEIR, PNEUROP, CECIMO, etc.). A monitoring bulletin is published regularly to inform members of regulatory changes published in the Official Journal. This bulletin is often used by members’ quality managers during ‘quality’ audits.
